Biography
Professor Kording joined the faculty in 2026 with more than two decades of experience in legal education and particular expertise in legal writing, advocacy, and bar preparation.
Kording’s scholarship focuses on legal education, family law, criminal justice, and access to the legal profession. Published works examine paternity law, genetic testing, and the legal treatment of families. Her scholarship has also explored financial fraud, multilingual access to the bar examination, and sentencing and recidivism.
A frequent presenter, Kording has spoken nationally on legal writing, bar preparation, advocacy, student learning, and the Next Generation Uniform Bar Examination. Kording’s professional affiliations include the Legal Writing Institute and the Association of Academic Support Educators.
Before entering legal academia, Kording practiced litigation in Pennsylvania and California, handling civil, family, and business disputes, and served as court-appointed appellate counsel in criminal, juvenile, and dependency matters.
