Make your Welcome Desk Appointment (Major Specific)
If your major is in the College of: Architecture, Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences, Engineering & Science, please contact the Transfer Team by calling (313) 993-1940 or transferteam@udmercy.edu to make your Welcome Desk appointment. Your Welcome Desk appointment includes an overview of your transfer credit evaluation, placement test information, navigating your Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ student portal and information to set up your first academic advising appointment.
If your major is in the College of Business Administration, Health Professions, or Dental School, please contact your academic advisor directly.

Visit campus
If you haven't visited campus yet, we welcome you to where you can learn about the campus and take a walking tour with a current student. You can also meet with your admissions counselor, financial aid counselor, or academic advisor. -

Request your high school transcript
Your federal student aid (FAFSA) award will not be released until your high school transcript arrives. If you earned college credit prior to July 1, 2012, this requirement is waived.
Please request to have your high school transcript confirming graduation sent to the Office of Admissions via Parchment (or your former high school's preferred electronic document service provider). If electronic delivery is not available, a paper transcript can be mailed to: Office of Admissions, Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ, 4001 W. McNichols Road, Detroit, MI 48221-3038.

File the FAFSA
All new students are encouraged to file the to become eligible for financial aid. Be sure to list Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ first on your form (School Code: 002323).

Review your financial aid and accept your award on My Portal
Visit My Portal to view your financial aid package and accept your award. My Portal is your Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ student portal for conducting University business, including viewing your financial aid package, registering for classes and checking class grades. You can access My Portal at . Log in information will be sent via email.

Take placement tests
Your official transfer credit evaluation will be mailed to you within two weeks of your admission. This will confirm whether placement testing is needed prior to registering for classes. Questions? Contact the Transfer Team by calling (313) 993-1940 or transferteam@udmercy.edu. -

Obtain your student ID and parking permit
All Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ students are required to register for a student ID card. Students must be enrolled in classes to apply for their student ID card.
Students who plan to have a vehicle on campus must register for a parking permit within the first 10 business days of the semester.
Students will receive their first student ID and parking permit free of charge.

Participate in orientation
Transfer student orientation varies by program. The virtual orientation was created for students who can't attend in-person and those whose programs do not include an in-person orientation.

Submit a Residence Hall Application
If you are interested in living on campus, you will need to submit a Residence Hall Application. Have your My Portal log in credentials (sent to you via email) available to access the application; contact Admissions if you need assistance in retrieving this information.

Complete the TB Questionnaire
Complete the online related to tuberculosis risk. For more information, visit the Wellness Center webpage. -

Buy or rent your textbooks
The bookstore on campus has everything you need for your courses.
When ordering your textbooks, have your class schedule available. To find your schedule, log in to your account > Registration > View Registration Information.
To find the textbooks required for your courses, follow these steps:

- At the top of the page, click Textbooks.
- Enter the course information for each class: department name, course number and section number. This information is on your class schedule.
- Click Find Materials.
